How long have you been creating music?

VICEGRIP: Since January 2018, I went to my first dubstep party early 2017 and after that I fell in love with the genre and bought my first turntable half a year later. Then 1 year later I bought fl studio 12 and started producing this music. Now after 1.5 years of grinding and learning, one of my best tunes yet is to be released on Prime Audio’s Prime Acces platform!!

What inspired you to write the track released with us?

VICEGRIP: Mary Jane and my producer friends.

What do you use to make your music?

VICEGRIP: First I used FL studio, but that proved to be lacking after not too many weeks of using it, then I switched to ableton live suite. For my synths I use mainly serum and phaseplant. For my eq I use the default one in ableton and sometimes Pro Q. for a lot of the processing and simple effects I use default ableton plugins a lot as they are quite good. Hardware side of stuff, I use a self built pc on which I run my daw and some good headphones + audio interface with a mic for recording vocals.

Where, and when, did you first discover Prime Audio?

VICEGRIP: I think that was end of 2017 when I heard either a phiso track or a subtronics track, it was on soundcloud if I remember correctly. After that I checked up regularly on prime audio.

What are your current challenges as a producer/DJ?

VICEGRIP: Its propably not getting enough exposure but I have a lot of stuff planned to fix this. Also I had some creative problems but after a break of half a year this is no longer present.

What are some things you are looking forward to this year?

VICEGRIP: Looking forward to working on music again after having been out of the scene for approx. 6 months. And just looking forward to life in general.

Who would you say is your biggest inspiration?

VICEGRIP: Has to be Aweminus his stuff is so original everytime, same with space laces and svdden death. Those are the kings of the scene imho. Also a lot of the newer guys releasing stuff on black label etc are really good, eg trvcy akeos calcium

What’s one thing on your list you want to do before you die?

VICEGRIP: Play a set on rampage open air for sure!
